PMRC 2007

The 8th Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Conference

PMRC 2007 will be held at Tokyo International Forum, Tokyo, Japan from Monday, October 15 through Wednesday, October 17, 2007.

Sponsored by Comittee 144 (Magnetic recording) of The Japan Society for The Promotion of Science and The Magnetics Society of Japan.

Perpendicular magnetic recording was introduced into commercial hard disk drives in 2005, and promises to advance the areal recording density towards 1 Tbits/inch2 and beyond. Emerging applications of HDDs are demanding rapid increases in storage capacity and areal density.

The 8th Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Conference is aimed at discussing the possible options and migration pathways to ultrahigh areal density perpendicular magnetic recording and related high-density storage technologies.

At PMRC 2007 all topics that contribute to the progress of perpendicular magnetic recording and high-density storage technologies will be discussed. Papers falling into the following categories are welcome.
