Welcome to Yoshitake KURIHARA's Web Page

Japanese / English

I was born in Matsuyama, Ehime Pref. JAPAN in 1967.
I received B.E. and M.E. degrees in electronic engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Ehime University, Matsuyama, Ehime Pref. JAPAN in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and Dr. Eng. degree from the same University in 1997.

I joined here Niihama National College of Technology, Niihama, Ehime Pref. JAPAN as a Research Associate in April 1992. Then I've presently been a Professor of the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering, since April 2012, and my research interest is in signal processing of digital magnetic recording.

From April 2000 to February 2001, I had studied perpendicular PRML data channels as a Visiting Scientist in CRIST (Centre for Research in Information Storage Technology), Department of Communication and Electronic Engineering, University of Plymouth, United Kingdom.

I'm a member of the followings:

Storage Research Consortium (by SRC, Japan)
Information Storage Industry Consortium (by INSIC, USA)

PRML (Partial Response Maximum Likelihood) System by storagereview.com

The 8th Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Conference (PMRC 2007)
The 2005 International Magnetic Conference (Intermag 2005)
The 8th Joint MMM-Intermag Conference (2001)
The 4th Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Conference (PMRC '97)
